Bóbr belongs to the Project 737M family of twin-screw harbour tugs developed for demanding towing and ship-handling operations. Vessels of the Project 737 series were built from the early 1960s through the 1970s and were designed primarily for assisting, towing and turning larger ships within ports and harbour approaches.
