Product Description
Build a detailed scale replica of the famous Polikarpov I-15 Soviet fighter with this 1:33 scale card model kit from Orel, No. 357.
Designed by Nikolai Polikarpov, the I-15 was developed from the earlier I-5 fighter and made its first flight in October 1933. The compact biplane entered Soviet service during the 1930s and, alongside the Polikarpov I-16, became one of the principal fighter aircraft of the Soviet Air Force.
The I-15 was particularly well known for its lightweight construction and excellent manoeuvrability. Although its speed and armament became increasingly inadequate as fighter technology advanced towards the end of the 1930s, the aircraft remains an important part of the development of Soviet military aviation.
This Orel 1:33 paper model kit is supplied on 10 A4 sheets and offers a moderate level of detail. Its combination of manageable construction and attractive detailing makes it suitable for beginners looking to develop their card-modelling skills as well as more experienced aircraft modellers.
The completed model provides an excellent representation of this distinctive 1930s Soviet biplane and makes an interesting addition to any collection of WWII-era, Soviet or military aircraft models.
