Build a detailed replica of the Soviet DU-48B road roller with this 1:25 scale card model kit from Orel (No. 121). Representing a piece of USSR civil road-building machinery from around 1980, this unusual model is an excellent addition to collections of construction vehicles, engineering machinery and Soviet-era equipment.
The DU-48 was developed from the earlier D-211V road roller. Its first prototype underwent production testing in 1971, and series production began in 1974 at the Rybinsk Road Machinery Plant. The machine was designed primarily for compacting asphalt and bitumen-concrete surfaces during the construction of roads, streets and industrial areas. It could also be used for compacting roadbeds and foundation layers.
Orel's DU-48B model in 1:25 scale provides a compact but highly detailed modelling project. The kit is printed across 8 A4 sheets and includes numerous fine components that reproduce the characteristic shape and mechanical details of the original road roller.
