Product Description
The Mary Rose 1:200 card model kit from Orel Publishing (No. 306) faithfully represents one of the most famous warships of Tudor England. Built in 1509 and commissioned in 1511, the carrack Mary Rose served as King Henry VIII’s flagship and played a crucial role in England’s naval history.
This detailed paper model depicts the ship as she appeared during the early 16th century, when she took part in campaigns against France. In 1545, during the Battle of the Solent against the fleet of Francis I, the ship tragically capsized and sank. Raised in 1982, the preserved hull and artifacts can now be seen at the Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth.
Designed for experienced model-makers, this kit offers a rewarding and immersive build, combining historical accuracy with high-quality graphic design. English-language instructions are included to guide you through the construction process.
