Product Description

Build a highly detailed replica of the famous ANT-25, one of the most important Soviet long-range aircraft of the 1930s. Published by Orel as kit No. 124, this impressive 1:33 scale card model kit recreates the ANT-25 flown by Valery Chkalov, Georgy Baidukov and Alexander Belyakov on their historic transpolar flight from the USSR to the United States in June 1937.

Designed primarily as an experimental long-range aircraft, the ANT-25 became famous for a series of record-breaking flights. On 18 June 1937, Chkalov's crew departed Moscow and flew north across the Arctic and the North Pole, continuing through Canada before reaching the United States. After approximately 63 hours in the air, they landed at Pearson Field in Vancouver, Washington, on 20 June.

Only a few weeks later, another ANT-25, flown by Mikhail Gromov, Andrei Yumashev and Sergei Danilin, completed an even longer transpolar flight to California, establishing a new world record for non-stop distance in a straight line.

This Orel model represents the ANT-25 in the markings of Chkalov's historic 1937 USSR–USA transpolar flight. The kit features detailed printed parts, including metallic silver printing, and consists of 20 A4 sheets.

With a completed wingspan of approximately 1030 mm, this is an exceptionally large and impressive aircraft model that makes a striking display piece for experienced card modellers and aviation enthusiasts.
