Product Description
The Brandenburg 1:200 scale card model kit from Orel Publishing recreates one of Germany’s most important early ocean-going battleships. Designed in the early 1890s under the supervision of Chief Naval Engineer Rauchfuss, Brandenburg marked a turning point for the German Navy—built not only for coastal defence but for open-sea operations.
Constructed in Stettin (today Szczecin) and launched in 1891, Brandenburg entered service in 1894 as a 1st-class battleship. It served in international deployments, including a campaign to Spain in 1895, before later being reassigned to coastal defence during World War I. Decommissioned in 1919, the ship was scrapped in 1920.
This 1:200 scale paper model offers a detailed and historically accurate representation of the ship. With an average difficulty level, it is best suited for experienced card model builders looking for a rewarding naval project. The kit includes English-language instructions and is printed on A4 sheets, making it accessible to an international audience.
