Historical Background:
The Hermes, launched in 1922 by Norderwerft AG, Hamburg, was the first Bugsier tugboat to use diesel engines instead of steam. Serving the Kriegsmarine during WWII as a salvage tug, she was sunk in 1944 at St. Malo, later salvaged by the French Navy, and served as Teanace until 1974.
