Product Description

Build a distinctive piece of Soviet river-vessel history with the Raketa Project 340P “Rocket-P” 1:100 scale card model kit from Orel.

The Project 340P was a specialised firefighting modification of the famous Soviet Raketa hydrofoil passenger vessel. Instead of serving purely as a high-speed passenger craft, the Rocket-P was adapted for firefighting and emergency-response duties.

The vessel was equipped with two fire monitors, together with water and air-foam fire-protection systems. Its firefighting equipment was capable of delivering water to a reported range of approximately 90 metres, with a water supply capacity of up to 800 m³ per hour.

The last surviving Rocket-P was withdrawn from active service in 2003 after suffering serious damage during a rescue operation. Following repair and restoration work, the vessel was installed in 2011 at a Ministry of Emergency Situations training facility in St. Petersburg, where it has been preserved as an exhibit.
