Product Description
Build a piece of Russian naval history with the Orel Publishing (089) 1:200 scale card model kit of the Tugboat “Vanya” / Gunboat “Vanya No.5”.
This highly detailed 17-sheet A3 model allows you to assemble two complete versions of the legendary vessel: the 1905 civil tugboat Vanya and the 1918 armed gunboat Vanya No. 5.
Originally built in Saratov for the Volga Shipping Company, the tugboat Vanya served for years along the Volga and Kama rivers, transporting essential goods. Refitted as an armed steamer during the Russian Civil War, it fought near Kazan before being damaged in 1918. After the war, the vessel was raised, repaired, and converted into a passenger steamer, continuing service on the Amu Darya River until 1968.
This kit captures the evolution of the ship with exceptional accuracy and an impressive amount of finely designed parts, delivering a challenging and rewarding build ideal for experienced modelers. Whether displayed as a commercial tugboat or a historic gunboat, this model stands out as a visually striking and historically rich centerpiece.
