Product Description
The Convulsion is a detailed 1:200 scale card model kit representing a British bomb ketch built in 1804 in Rotherhithe (today a district of London). Designed for naval warfare against coastal fortifications, this unique vessel carried a powerful short-barrelled mortar mounted in the bow, capable of firing shells along a high arcing trajectory.
Unlike typical sailing ships, Convulsion featured a ketch rig with only a mainmast and mizzenmast, no foremast, and an extra-long bowsprit combined with very large staysails. These distinctive features give the model an unmistakable silhouette and strong historical character.
Published by Orel Publishing, this kit consists of 6 A4 sheets and includes English-language instructions. With a medium difficulty level, it is well suited for modelers who already have some experience and are looking for an interesting and historically accurate naval subject.
