Product Description
Build one of the most intriguing “what-if” ships of World War II with this highly detailed Angraf 1:200 scale card model kit of the German aircraft carrier Weser. Designed in A3 format, this model recreates the incomplete conversion of the heavy cruiser Seydlitz into an aircraft carrier—a project inspired by the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.
In 1942, Seydlitz was already 95% complete when Germany decided to transform her into an aircraft carrier. The ship was stripped of superstructures and armament, but work stopped in 1943 by Hitler’s order. Later used as a hulk in Königsberg, the unfinished vessel was scuttled in 1945. This kit captures the ship in its planned carrier configuration, delivering a unique historical subject for advanced model builders.
The model offers precisely designed structural elements, accurate hull geometry, and detailed representation of protective armour—such as the 80 mm main belt, reinforced bulkheads, and layered deck protection. Ideal for enthusiasts of German naval history, paper modelling, and rare conversion projects.
