Product Description

Build a detailed scale replica of the famous French B-1 Heavy Tank with this 1:25 scale card model kit from Orel (No. 035).

Development of the B-1 began in France in 1921 as part of a programme to create a heavily armoured infantry support tank. Following a long development and testing period, the design was adopted for service during the 1930s. Production involved several major French manufacturers, including Renault, FCM, Schneider, FAMH and APX.

The B-1 and its improved variants became some of the most distinctive French tanks of the early Second World War. Their combination of heavy armour and powerful armament made them formidable opponents during the Battle of France in May–June 1940. Although exceptionally well protected for their time, their effectiveness was limited by factors including complex operation, communications and the tactical situation faced by French forces.

This Orel 035 paper model kit recreates the B-1 in an attractive yellow-green camouflage scheme. Designed at an impressive 1:25 scale, the model offers plenty of exterior detail while remaining relatively straightforward to construct.
