Product Description
The Sheksna 1:200 scale card model kit by Orel Publishing (No. 119) represents a historic Russian oil tanker built in 1914 at the Nizhny Novgorod Shipyard. Designed as a river-sea vessel, Sheksna was capable of navigating the Mariinsky Water System locks while remaining seaworthy for operations in the Baltic Sea.
During World War I, the tanker was mobilized into the Baltic Fleet, where it played a crucial logistical role refueling advanced NOVIK-class destroyers. Later renamed V. S. Borisov, the ship continued reliable service in the Northwestern water basin until being scrapped in 1943.
This highly detailed 1:200 scale paper model is part of the Civil Fleet series and offers an authentic representation of early 20th-century Russian maritime engineering. With 10 A4 pages, the kit provides an engaging and rewarding build for experienced card modelers and naval history enthusiasts.
