Product Description
Build a detailed scale replica of the Yakovlev Yak-7B, one of the Soviet Union’s key fighter aircraft of the Second World War, with this 1:33 scale card model kit from Orel, issue No. 116.
The Yak-7 originated from the Yak-7UTI two-seat trainer and was developed into a highly capable combat fighter. Its robust construction, good handling characteristics and powerful armament made the Yak-7B an important aircraft of the Soviet Air Force during World War II.
The Yak-7B was armed with a 20 mm ShVAK cannon firing through the propeller hub and two 12.7 mm UBS machine guns mounted above the engine. It could also carry RS-82 rockets or bombs beneath the wings. Later aircraft received the more powerful Klimov M-105PF engine, improving performance, particularly at lower altitudes.
This model represents the Yak-7B flown by Captain Pavel Timofeevich Tarasov, Hero of the Soviet Union, while serving with the 812th Fighter Aviation Regiment in the autumn of 1943.
Published by Orel, the kit is printed across 10 A4 sheets and allows experienced card modellers to create an impressive 1:33 scale replica of this famous Soviet fighter.
